Switzer’s OT goal gives Bombers 2-0 series lead over North Stars
After giving up a goal in the final minute of Game One causing a loss, the North Stars were able to hold on and get to overtime in game two. Unfortunately for them, it took just 50 seconds into the extra frame for the Bombers to win.
Flin Flon was clearly the better team in the opening 20 minutes, outshooting the North Stars 20-10.
The Bombers opened the scoring 4:38 into the game when the North Stars couldn’t clear the puck out of their own zone. After two turnovers, Bombers defenceman Mason Etter threw the puck at the net from the point and Brandon Lesko deflected it through the pads of Tyler Fuhr.
Just over four minutes later the North Stars answered as Rory Davidson gathered the puck along the left wing boards before finding Baxter Kanter alone in the slot. Kanter landed his first career playoff goal with a one-timer around an outstretched Brenden Newton.
