Local hotel recognized just months after opening

Just two months after opening, the Comfort Inn and Suites in North Battleford has been recognized by Choice Hotels Canada.

The hotel, which opened June 28, is still being finished up, yet it was recognized with the 2018 Best New Entry award in a new build Mid-Market Brand.

Rizza Raquinio, the manager of the hotel told battlefordsNOW how much of an honour it was being chosen for the award.

“It’s really a great honour, for Choice, they have a lot of hotels, but for us to be chosen, and for us only being open for two months,” she said. “It’s really a privilege to be recognized as one of the best for newly-built properties.”

The new hotel has received great feedback so far in the months that they’ve been open. Raquino says the guests have all had great experiences, and have complimented the staff time and time again.

“It’s very modern, very chic,” she said. “They like the waterfall faucet and all the facilities we have. This is one of the few hotels that offers guest appreciation. They really feel welcomed when they come in and stay at the hotel.”

The hotel will officially open at the beginning of October, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for around that time as well. The hotel will be recognized with the honour at an awards gala Oct. 11 at the Choice Hotels fall conference. Raquinio added that if people are interested in checking out the facilities or staying the night, they can just head on over.

“For anyone who needs rooms in North Battleford, come down to the Comfort Inn,” she said. “We will give them the best experience we can offer here in North Battleford.”
