Two-vehicle crash near Paynton sends four to hospital

Maidstone RCMP are investigating a two-vehicle collision near Paynton. 

On March 19, around 9 p.m., RCMP received a report of a vehicle collision on Highway #16, west of the community.

Officers, local fire and multiple EMS services, including STARS, responded to the scene. The investigation determined a truck and a second vehicle had collided. 

The driver and sole occupant of the truck was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.  

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries. A teenage passenger was taken to hospital by STARS with injuries described as serious in nature. A third occupant in the vehicle, an adult, was taken to hospital by EMS for further assessment.  

The eastbound lanes of Hwy 16 were closed for multiple hours, but have since reopened. 

Maidstone RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
