Multiple RMCP detachments are assisting a joint investigation of a suspicious death in Onion Lake Cree Nation (OLCN) on April 15.

Just after 4:00 p.m., a member of the Crime Reduction Team was waved down by an OLCN community member, saying there was an injured man outside a residence. EMS attended, but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as an adult male from OLCN, whose family has been notified. His death is being considered suspicious at this time.

The Saskatchewan General Investigation Section is being assisted by the North Battleford RCMP Forensic Identification, Onion Lake RCMP, RCMP Major Crime Unit North and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. An autopsy is underway in Saskatoon. The investigation is ongoing.
