Battlefords RCMP seek wanted man after firearm discharged toward residence

Battlefords RCMP are asking the public to report sightings of a wanted North Battleford man following a firearm discharge on Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation.

RCMP received a report of the firearm discharge at about 2:25 a.m. on Aug. 25.

An investigation determined the shot was fired from a vehicle in the direction of a residence. The vehicle, described as a black, four-door Dodge Dart, then left the area. None of the occupants inside the residence were physically injured.

Battlefords RCMP, along with Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services, conducted patrols in the area in an attempt to locate the suspect vehicle but were unsuccessful.

As a result of the continued investigation, 18-year-old Brady Starchief of North Battleford is charged with six firearm discharge and possession-related offences.

A warrant has been issued for Starchief’s arrest. Battlefords RCMP continue to work to locate him and are asking the public to report any sightings or information about his whereabouts.

Starchief is described as 5-foot-7 and 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. RCMP do not have a photo of him they are able to share.

If you see Starchief, do not approach him. Report sightings or information about his whereabouts, or the black Dodge Dart, to Battlefords RCMP by calling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
