Children shine during Winter Song
To get in the holiday spirit, members of the community’s children and youth choirs sung their hearts out at the Dekker Centre on Dec. 11.
The Winter Song Concert featured performances from the Battlefords Children’s Junior Choir, the Battlefords Children’s Preparatory Choir and the Kamala Youth Choir.
However, the choirs weren’t the only performers on the stage. The night also saw guest performances from Tricia Florence, Moe McGuinty, and Matthew Armet. Performances included Christmas classics like Jingle Bells and I’ll Be Home For Christmas, along with some more childlike tunes, like I Like Candy Canes. Winter Song featured over 20 song performances from either one or a mixture of choirs and performers.
The youngest member of the Kamala Youth Choir is Leah Beausoleil, 9. She said the two words she’d use to describe the night would be fun and exciting.
