An Onion Lake woman faces four charges after RCMP said they seized about 428 grams of methamphetamine, along with cocaine, during searches of a vehicle and a home on Onion Lake Cree Nation.

The 35-year-old is now charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one involving methamphetamine and the other cocaine.

She also faces one count each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order condition.

RCMP said officers stopped a vehicle on the First Nation at about 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 29.

Police allege the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was breaching court-ordered conditions connected to an August drug-trafficking investigation. Officers arrested her at the scene.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered about 28 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of cocaine and drug-trafficking paraphernalia, RCMP said.

Later that day, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on the First Nation as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police said they seized another 400 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of cocaine, cash, two airguns, a knife and more drug-trafficking paraphernalia from the residence.
