North Stars drop first regulation game to Klippers
The end of Tuesday’s Battlefords North Stars game was ugly.
In the club’s first regulation loss of the season — 4-1 to their division rival Kindersley — the buy-in wasn’t there, but what transpired at the buzzer could have a more lasting effect over the coming days.
Multiple fights broke out as the game clock struck zero; three on each side according to the league game sheet. It’s likely suspensions will follow for North Stars Keith Anderson, Troy Gerein, and Connor Manegre, as well as Klippers Christian Bosa, Austin Nault, and Tyler Traptow.
The sour taste of the loss, plus the fisticuffs, left North Stars head coach Brandon Heck with little to say in the post-game interview.
