North Stars fire 72 shots in 5-2 win over Yorkton
The Battlefords North Stars are the first Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League team to crack 70 shots on goal this season.
On Friday night, they defeated the Yorkton Terriers 5-2 in a game where they fired 72 shots on 16-year-old netminder Nolan Maier.
The Terriers, meanwhile, managed just 19 shots of their own.
Although the win improved the North Stars record to 9-0-1 this season, head coach Brandon Heck wasn’t particularly pleased with how dominant the shots were.
