Two men have been charged with murder after a 39-year-old man was killed Saturday in Regina.

Police were called to the 2100 block of Cornwall Street Saturday around 11:30 p.m. for a report of a seriously injured man.

Police and EMS found 39-year-old Blaine Thomas Katz dead at the scene. Next-of-kin were then notified.

Police said they determined Katz had been murdered after getting more information and gathering evidence.

Two men were arrested and charged Sunday morning.

Forty-four-year-old Gerald Earl McDormand, of Regina, and 39-year-old Steven Paul Saint Pierre, of Moose Jaw, have been jointly charged with second-degree murder.

Both made their first appearances in provincial court Monday morning.

This is Regina’s fifth murder of 2017.
