Jan 2, 2017 | 11:00 AM

An alternative weapon was used during a break-in over the weekend.

Battlefords RCMP said a suspect broke into a residence on 100th St. at roughly 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31 and used bear spray on the occupant before fleeing.

Thankfully the victim didn’t need medical attention.

RCMP said the incident is still under investigation.

From the morning of New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day, RCMP responded to more than 85 incidents.

Three vehicles were reported stolen early on Jan. 1. A black Pontiac Torrent was stolen from 104th St. and a Dodge Ram and Ford F-150 were stolen from a farm east of North Battleford.

An intoxicated woman was also arrested early Sunday morning for banging on doors. She was located and arrested by RCMP.
