Meet the nominees for the Chamber of Commerce board elections
Ballots are due to vote for new members on the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
There are 12 seats open this year on the board, which is made up of 20 elected positions. Six incumbent directors are running along with 10 newcomers for the open seats.
Incumbent Terry Caldwell said he’s had a rewarding experience as a director over the last two years and has learned a lot about the community and how to grow businesses in the Battlefords. Originally from the Battlefords, Caldwell returned from several years in Red Deer to open Carpet Superstore in 2010 and then Empress Furniture and Décor in 2014.
Incumbent Susan Challis has worked at SaskTel in a variety of roles for more than 19 years, including in North Battleford for the last two and a half. She has also volunteered and worked with many organizations such as Open Door Society, Kidney Foundation, Canadian Ski Patrol, SaskTel Aboriginal Employees Network and SaskTel Pioneers. She said she’s loved her time on the Chamber board and hopes to continue serving the community.
