Nov 14, 2016 | 5:55 AM

A crash on Highway 5, roughly 10 kilometres East of Saskatoon, claimed the life of a semi truck driver and nearly killed a car driver.

Around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, Saskatoon Fire Department and RCMP received reports that a semi had rolled over and a car was submerged in water.

When they arrived, crews discovered a man trapped inside the car and performed a water rescue.

One man from the car and one man from the truck were transported to Royal University Hospital. However, Sunday evening RCMP said the driver of the semi had died.
