Election 2016: Number of advance voters up after two days of polls
With two days of advance polls completed, some areas have been swamped with voters and long lines.
Election Saskatchewan Senior Director Tim Kydd said since advance voting is open to anyone this year, they had 24,602 people cast their votes on day one alone, a 53 per cent increase from day one in 2011.
Kydd said they have not heard any reports about lines and needed extra staff in the Battlefords and Meadow Lake constituencies.
If an advance poll needs more workers, they call in extra pre-trained teams of two workers and a ballot box. Most of the extra teams sitting on standby are people who will be working the ballots on Election Night.
