Police pursued suspicious vehicle prior to fatal crash

The truck involved in a fatal crash which killed three women on Friday was involved in a police pursuit roughly 30 minutes before its collision near Lloydminster, according to new details provided by the RCMP.

Three people are dead following an early morning crash involving two vehicles on Highway 16 approximately five km East of Lloydminster.

Maidstone RCMP said collison happened after 3 a.m. Friday morning when a heavy duty, flat deck truck collided with a minivan in the eastbound lane.

Town looking for more volunteer firefighters

The Town of Battleford is looking for a few good men and women to join its volunteer fire department.

"It's a great way to give back to your community," Mayor Ames Leslie said following Monday's meeting.

New CT scanner unveiled at BUH

Roland Bru can now lay claim to being a part of Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) history.

The North Battleford man was the first patient examined by the new computed tomography (CT) scanner on Monday at the BUH.

RCMP encourages drivers to play it safe going into the fall

Battlefords RCMP are reminding drivers to take their time on the roads, especially going into the harvest season.

They are asking drivers to use caution when sharing the road with heavy farm equipment in particular.
