No relief from cold temperatures in sight: Environment Canada
If you packed your winter coats and mittens away a few weeks ago during the warm spell in the area, you may want to consider unpacking them again.
After a frigid Easter holiday weekend, which saw 11 cold temperature records smashed across the province, Environment Canada Meteorologist Mike Rousseau told battlefordsNOW the deep freeze could remain with us for a while.
“We expect the cold temperatures to continue for the next seven days,” Rousseau said. “In fact, the monthly long-range forecast has the cold going beyond that, perhaps as long as two weeks with below normal temperatures.”
The Battlefords saw temperatures dip below -20 °C with the wind chill this morning. The coldest place in Canada was Key Lake in northern Saskatchewan, where it reached minus 39.
