Pride of the Northwest talent competition sees plenty of winners
It was a big night for the region’s musical talent Saturday when the winners were selected in the Pride of the Northwest Amateur Talent Competition put on by the Gold Eagle Casino in North Battleford.
Now in its 18th year, the event was packed with fans taking in the final show, which featured 12 male and 12 female vocalists vying for the top five spots, as well as competitors in the Red River jigging competition. A total of $10,000 was given out in cash prize awards during the evening. Colton Mike, who also competed last year, took home top spot in the male vocalist category. The 25-year-old hails from Duck Lake, Saskatchewan.
