‘She’s up to the challenge’: Ritz on Falk
For the first time since 1997, Gerry Ritz watched Monday’s byelection results roll in as a constituent rather than a candidate and he says he could not have been more pleased with the outcome; a win by Conservative candidate Rosemarie Falk.
The long serving Conservative MP stepped down in August after a political career spanning nearly 30 years, the last 20 of which he spent representing the local riding in Ottawa.
“It was certainly a different experience for sure,” Ritz said. “I am sure I’ll get used to it.”
Ritz had nothing but praise for the 29-year-old former social worker who will represent the riding which encompasses areas surrounding North Battleford, Battleford, Unity and the Saskatchewan side of Lloydminster.
