MP Andrew Scheer considering Conservative leadership run

It looks like Saskatchewan MP Andrew Scheer is running for leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada.

He has resigned as opposition house leader, a position he would have difficulty doing if he were to enter the race.

In a written statement released to the media he writes:

Northern MP calls for more suicide prevention services

To raise awareness and remember those lost to suicide, leaders and communities across northern Saskatchewan are recognizing World Suicide Prevention Day.

Georgina Jolibois, MP for Desnethe–Missinippi–Churchill River, said it’s pivotal to acknowledge the reality of suicides.

Battlefords author releases anthology of Canadian veterans

The author of a book immortalizing the Battlefords has released another about the true stories of Canadian families during the Second World War.

Brad Trost enters Conservative leader's race

Long-serving Member of Parliament Brad Trost is running for the leadership of the federal Conservative party.
 
Mike Patton, a spokesperson for Trost's campaign, confirmed that the 42-year-old MP in the Saskatoon-University riding is indeed running.

Province commits to programs, funding in La Loche
