41 COVID-19 deaths reported in Saskatchewan in last 7 days, five more on Saturday

Although COVID-19 cases are continuing to decrease across the province, deaths are still turning up.

In the past week, 41 people died to COVID-19, including five in Saturday’s update. There are now 817 people that have died to the virus in the province, to date.

For new cases, 231 cases were reported, with 17 coming from the North West zone, 22 from North Central, 11 from North East, 14 from Far North West and six from Far North East.

Of the new cases, 165 were unvaccinated, 49 of which were 11 years old or younger.

There are 25 new cases to report today in NITHA communities.
8 (32%) were unvaccinated, 8 (32%) are partially vaccinated and 9 (36%) were fully vaccinated.

There are 229 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 0; Far North West, 61; Far North East, 114; North Central, 28; and North East, 26. 6421 cases (96%) have recovered, and 12 people are hospitalized.
