Maidstone RCMP kept busy first week of May

Maidstone RCMP reported 104 police incidences the first week of May, the most common of which being break and enters, fire and impaired drivers.

On the morning of May 1, RCMP was advised by a nearby detachment of a possible impaired driver. The driver, a 50-year-old female from Saskatoon, was arrested for impaired operations of a motor vehicle, dangerous operations of a motor vehicle and possession of an illegal drug or substance. Her vehicle was impounded.

On May 2, two motorist were stopped on Highway 16 near Maidstone by RCMP in two separate incidents. The drivers were travelling 35 km/hr over the posted speed limit of 110 km/hr. Both were charged with one count each of operating a vehicle at a speed greater than 35 kms over the applicable speed limit. The resulting fine was $340.

On May 6, a missing person was reported in the RM of Britannia north of Lloydminster. Maria Erdmann, 49, was last seen leaving her residence at 11:05 p.m. Maidstone RCMP, with the assistance of Lloydminster RCMP Police Dog Services and the Lloydminster Rescue Squad located Erdmann early the next morning, unharmed.
