Jun 2, 2016 | 5:41 PM

Five days into Roughrider training camp and Josiah St. John and team management are still at an impasse.

It has now come out that St. John is asking the Riders for a trade, according to reports from Justin Dunk of Three Down Nation.

General manager and head coach Chris Jones had been tight lipped about the negotiations, but at training camp on Thursday admitted there were some difficulties.

“We’d love the have him here, but unfortunately his representation has made it very tough on us,” he said.

It was less than a month ago when St. John expressed his astonishment of being taken first overall, and said he was ready to get to work with the green and white.

“I’m really excited to get down there and get started, working towards contributing to the team early and winning a championship with Saskatchewan,” he said during a conference call on May 11th.

According to Dunk, the Roughriders are not considering a deal at this point.
