North Battleford Remembrance Day service moved due to Don Ross Centre roof leak

Nov 3, 2026 | 2:10 PM

A roof leak at the Don Ross Centre gymnasium has prompted North Battleford’s Remembrance Day service to move to North Battleford Comprehensive High School.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 70 said the Nov. 11 service will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the school gym. Attendees are asked to use the south main doors.

In a statement, the city said it became aware of the leak Monday afternoon.

“The City of North Battleford is assessing the roof at this facility and determining how to address any concerns so the facility can remain operational.”

The city said planned maintenance occurs throughout the year at Don Ross Centre properties, including work on the gymnasium roof.

Its parks and recreation department has notified all facility booking groups. The city said any impact on the facility’s operational status would be widely communicated.

1050 CJNB will broadcast the service live beginning at 10:45 a.m. The community is also invited to the Legion following the service for lunch and live entertainment.
