$1.16M Territorial Drive widening moves ahead with change at Airport Road
Drivers can expect changes along Territorial Drive this fall, including a right-turn-only configuration at Airport Road, as North Battleford moves ahead with a scaled-back $1.16-million widening project.
City council approved Monday awarding the first two phases of the project to K&S Asphalt Services for $1.16 million, including more than $65,000 in PST and $64,000 in contingency funding.
The work will reconfigure the Territorial Drive and service road intersection near Tim Hortons, overlay the southbound lanes from Pioneer Avenue to Highway 16 and widen the northbound side toward Airport Road.
Director of Engineering, Planning, Asset Management and Infrastructure James Johansen told council the service road intersection is being reconfigured to give motorists clearer direction through an area that can be confusing, particularly when turning onto the service road.
