Pair of NBCHS Vikings reflect on claiming silver at Canada Cup
The U18 Football Canada Cup was held July 11-20 in Winnipeg, with some of the best football players from across the country gathering for the annual tournament.
In the end, Team Saskatchewan took home the silver medal after falling 23-20 to Quebec in a championship game that came down to the wire. As in previous tournaments, Team Sask. had a North Battleford product on either side of the ball, with offensive lineman Reed Johnson and defensive tackle Brandyn Schmunk.
Although it wasn’t the end they were looking for, it was a valuable experience for both players.
“It was awesome,” said Johnson. “A great learning experience and I met a lot of new guys there and it was just overall a great experience.”
