North Battleford Beavers aiming for their fourth straight title against Unity
The North Sask River Baseball League finals have been set, and it will be a rematch of last year’s championship series between the No. 1 seed Unity Cardinals and the No. 2 North Battleford Beavers.
“I think it’s going to be a battle,” said Beavers manager and player Kyle Gregoire.
“Last year, we went 3 extra innings. Their team’s obviously got a little bit better as the years have progressed. I think our team’s been staying about the same and had a couple good pickups there too. So overall, I think it’s going to be a hard-fought series, but I like our chances.”
The Beavers reached the finals after a two-game sweep of the Standard Hill Lakers, taking Game 1 4-2 before winning Game 2 by a score of 17-8.
