VANCOUVER — Max Scherzer’s rehab journey touched down in Vancouver on Friday, where he pitched three innings for the high-A Vancouver Canadians en route to a 5-3 win over the Eugene Emeralds.

Scherzer, who hasn’t pitched for the Blue Jays since a three-plus inning effort on June 10, threw 49 pitches at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium — 33 for strikes — and allowed three hits, two walks, two earned runs and struck out three hitters.

The Emeralds were leading 2-1 when Scherzer was replaced by Landen Maroudis.

Scherzer is expected to join the Blue Jays in Seattle, where they open a nine-game road trip on Friday night with stops in Seattle, San Francisco and San Diego.
