UPDATE: Highway 4 reopens after serious collision near Cochin

Highway 4 has now reopened between Cochin and Marlin following a serious collision that prompted an earlier closure on Thursday morning.

Motorists are no longer being asked to avoid the area, but are reminded to continue driving with caution in the region as emergency response work wraps up.

Drivers travelling between Cochin and Marlin are being asked to avoid the area as Battlefords RCMP respond to a serious collision on Highway 4. 

Police said the investigation is still in its early stages, and no further details are available at this time. 

Both lanes of Highway 4 are currently closed, and there is no word yet on when the road may reopen. 

Motorists should expect delays and are reminded to slow down, use caution, and follow the directions of emergency crews on scene.
