Armed robbery suspect flees RCMP in stolen vehicle in North Battleford

A North Battleford man faces 11 charges after RCMP say he fled from officers in a stolen vehicle and struck multiple parked vehicles following an alleged robbery involving a weapon.

Battlefords RCMP received a report of a robbery outside a business on Railway Avenue East at about 10:10 p.m. Wednesday.

A man threatened a person with a weapon and attempted to rob them before leaving in a vehicle. Investigators determined the vehicle had been stolen in North Battleford earlier that evening.

Officers found the suspect a short time later outside a residence and initiated a traffic stop, but the vehicle did not stop.

RCMP said the suspect struck the parked vehicles as he fled before abandoning the stolen vehicle and running away. No one was inside the parked vehicles when they were hit.

Police then arrested the suspect outside a residential property.

Now, Jeffrey Holliday, 32, is charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and being disguised with intent to commit an offence.

He is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, resisting a peace officer, failing to stop after an accident, common nuisance endangering life, flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with a release order condition.

Holliday was scheduled to appear in North Battleford provincial court Friday.
