8-year-old from North Battleford chosen to perform for talent scouts in Toronto

This convention will run from Wednesday to Sunday, where the young performer will participate in several categories like runway, commercials, and photography.

“I am so excited!” Adalynn said.

She was chosen after attending a conference in Saskatoon. That’s where she heard from local models about their experience in the industry.

“They took Adalynn’s information, gave us a pamphlet to take home and review. If she was interested, the final part of the audition process was to make a 30-second videotape of yourself telling why you think you should be picked to go to Toronto,” said her mom.

Once her time in Toronto is complete, she hopes to be cast for a commercial, but even just the experience will be special to her.

“It is educational. Even if you don’t get a whole lot with the competitions, you’re conversing with people, you’re learning proper etiquette, and how to present yourself and be around other people,” said Oborowsky.

“It will be a great learning experience and something she can look back on regardless. It’s definitely a good experience,” said Adalynn’s dad, Albert Oborowsky.

To help achieve the young girl’s dream, local community sponsors have helped to cover her flights, and donated money for her stay, including $100 from the City of North Battleford.
