Stolen vehicle and assault leads to police dog search, arrests in Lloydminster

Nov 21, 2025 | 6:30 PM

A police dog helped officers track down several suspects after an assault and vehicle theft in Lloydminster on Nov. 19, according to RCMP.

Police responded to a report of an assault and stolen vehicle and quickly located the vehicle a short time later. RCMP Police Dog Services were deployed, and a track led officers to a residence near 48 Avenue and 32 Street, investigators said.

Father Gorman School was notified of the heavy police presence, though an assessment determined there was no risk to students or staff.

Officers contained the home while a warrant was obtained. Three people were arrested once police entered the residence, and two were later released on conditions as the investigation continued. A fourth suspect, identified later in the probe, was also arrested.
