North Stars back at home to take on the Nipawin Hawks
For the first time since Oct. 10, the Battlefords North Stars (6-4-1-2, 3rd in Nutrien Division) are at the Access Communications Centre as they try to get back to their winning ways against the Nipawin Hawks (9-5-1-0, 1st in UPL Division).
The North Stars are dropped two straight games and three in their last five, with two of those losses coming in overtime or the shootout. They are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss on the road against the Melville Millionaires on Nov. 1. Nipawin also suffered a loss in their last game after falling 5-1 to the Flin Flon Bombers.
Like the North Stars, Nipawin has also lost three of their last five contests. They have a record of 2-4-1-0 in their last seven after starting the season with a 7-1-0-0 record.
With the Western All-Star Challenge currently happening, both teams will be missing one player each. The North Stars will be without defenceman Linken Fisher. The Hawks won’t have forward Will Whitter as both players are with team SJHL in Martensville, as they play against team MJHL..
