North Stars on the road for weekend games with Yorkton Terriers and Melville Millionaires

Oct 31, 2025 | 1:00 PM

After a pair of wins last weekend against the Estevan Bruins, the Battlefords North Stars (6-3-0-2, 3rd in Nutrien division) are back on the road to face the Yorkton Terriers on Oct. 31, then the Melville Millionaires on Nov. 1.

The games come shortly after the North Stars made a couple of roster moves. They traded forward Baden Pazdzierski to the Dryden Ice Dogs of the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) for a player development fee. Pazdzierski played six games this season with the North Stars and scored one goal.

In another move, the North Stars also acquired forward Alessio Nardelli from the Lloydminster Bobcats of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in exchange for a player development fee. In 14 games this season, Nardelli has five points (2 goals, 3 assists). The North Stars played against Nardelli and the Bobcats in the preseason, when the former Bobcat had three points (2 goals, 1 assist) in the two games.

The North Stars are looking to win their third straight game after taking down the Bruins 7-5, then 8-4 last weekend. Adam Konowalchuk led the way on offense for the North Stars with a hat trick on Saturday.

Yorkton (7-6-0-1, 3rd in Bunge division) also looks for their third straight win. They beat the Warman Wolverines 7-2 in Warman on Oct. 25, then took down the Nipawin Hawks 2-1 in overtime on Oct. 28. Thomas Ries got the overtime winner for the Terriers less than a minute into the overtime frame.

After the Halloween contest, the North Stars will face the Melville Millionaires (5-7-1-2, 4th in Bunge division) who are in Nipawin to face the Hawks for a Halloween night matchup.

The Ultra Print Services pregame show begins at 6:30 p.m., while Napa Auto Parts North Stars hockey starts at 7:00 p.m. on CJNB/CJNS.
