RCMP say missing woman’s disappearance result of foul play, being investigated as homicide

RCMP are investigating the disappearance of Tiki Laverdiere as a homicide after determining she went missing as a result of foul play.

Laverdiere was last seen in North Battleford and last made contact with her family on May 1.

The 25-year-old Edmonton woman was in the area at the end of April for a few days to attend a funeral on the Thunderchild First Nation with a friend.

RCMP had previously said Tiki expressed a desire to return to Edmonton after the funeral. A post on her Facebook page on April 30 showed she was looking for a ride to the Alberta capital from the Battlefords.

Her mother Carol, sister, uncle and aunt were in the region in mid-May, making enquiries and looking for Tiki.

Over the last several days, the RCMP have executed search warrants at a number of homes in the city and are now reviewing the information gathered.

The investigation remains ongoing and police continue to follow up on information and tips provided by the public.
