This victory is not just for the woman who won over a hundred grand; it also signifies a victory for the community. With the new system at the Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH), there is now an opportunity to save more lives.

“This year’s lottery proceeds have enabled the purchase of the 3D Ngenuity system, directly benefiting the quality of surgical care available to the entire region,” explained a release from the Battlefords Healthcare Foundation (BHCF).

The advanced 3D Ngenuity system leverages cutting-edge visualization technology to revolutionize surgical care. By providing enhanced imaging capabilities, it significantly improves precision in complex, minimally invasive procedures.

This advancement streamlines procedure times and enhances recovery outcomes, marking a new chapter in patient care.

“The overwhelming support from the community through the $100,000 lottery is a testament to our shared commitment to enhancing healthcare in the Battlefords,” said Leanne Ducommun, executive director of BHCF, in a release.

Laurel Derenoski from Vawn won the $100,00 lottery. Along with her, Leanne Heckenberg from Wilkie won the BUCF 50/50 draw and took home $63,682.50. Some cash prize winners also contributed to the fundraising lottery.
