‘A very caring community’ : Battlefords food bank receives over $10K from 100 Women Who Care
1,200 community members benefited from The Battlefords District Food and Resource Centre(BDFRC) ’s Chrismas Hamper program last year, which marks the significance of the $11,000 donation 100 Women The Battlefords made to them on Thursday night.
100 Women recently hosted its third 100 Women Who Care gathering at Stil Boutique and Beauty Inc. in North Battleford. The gathering brought together local charities and its members, providing an opportunity to network and foster greater community growth.
Kayla Petersen, a committee member of The 100 Women, noted that the total donation came from over 90 registered attendees, each contributing at least $100, along with donations from those unable to attend.
“It’s still important to recognize that these charities and these organizations in our community do a lot of really good work, and they still need help. It is important to give back and support our community members,” Petersen said.
