Update: One dead after morning collision south of Battleford

A 28-year-old woman is dead following a two-vehicle collision near the Red Pheasant and Mosquito First Nation.

Battlefords RCMP said a car with two people was heading north on Highway 4 when a truck travelling west on a grid road ran a stop sign and hit the passenger side of the car at around 7:30 a.m.

The female was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been notified but the name of the deceased will not be released.

Traffic along the highway was re-routed as police investigated.
