Smeaton RCMP seek public assistance locating missing 85-year-old man

Update: On May 19, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the 85-year-old man previously reported as missing to Smeaton RCMP was located deceased.

His family has been notified and our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.

After initial investigation, Smeaton RCMP believes his death to be non-suspicious in nature.

Smeaton RCMP thanks the emergency responders and volunteer searchers for their assistance.

Smeaton RCMP is asking for the publics help in locating missing 85-year-old Donald Sussums of the Choiceland area.

Sussums’ vehicle was found at approximately 1:00 p.m. yesterday on a quad trail, 14 kilometres north of Choiceland. Officers are currently on scene and are asking members of the public to report all sightings of the man. Police said he may appear confused or disoriented.
