City running controlled burn at landfill

People may notice some smoke from the landfill in the days ahead, but it is all part of the City of North Battleford’s annual controlled burn for the clean wood piles.
The city advised in a release today, the controlled burn at the City’s Waste Management Facility will run all this week.
The city noted staff will oversee the burn of the clean wood piles at the landfill. The event is expected to last most of the week.
“Should citizens see or smell smoke coming from the landfill site off Wearing Road, it is not a cause for concern,” the city said. “The controlled burn has been done with notification and permits from the appropriate authorities.”
