Melfort RCMP asking for help in solving two crimes in the northeast

Melfort RCMP are investigating two separate crimes that happened this week and asking for help to find those responsible.

The first incident happened the night of Sept. 18 as a young man was seen on video surveillance walking up to a business on the 100 block of Main Street in Melfort and stealing surveillance equipment.

The suspect appears to be wearing glasses, a hat, a hoodie and jogger-style pants in the footage.

The next incident happened two days later around 1:30 a.m. in Star City. A woman approached a home asking for a ride. When the homeowner agreed to help the woman, she grabbed the homeowner’s keys and stole a vehicle.

That stolen vehicle is a 2003 brown Oldsmobile Aurora with a Saskatchewan license plate 474 MTN.
