Three people running for mayor in Nipawin

Three people have submitted nomination papers to run for Mayor of the Town of Nipawin.
Former fire chief Brian Starkell, former Chamber of Commerce president Marlon Zacharias and Laura Nycholat, who lives in Nipawin and works remotely for a company in Calgary are the three people now running.
Nominations closed on Sept. 13, but candidates have until 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 to withdraw if they want.
The mayoral position was left vacant by the resignation of Rennie Harper on July 10, following an investigation into her conduct that was initiated by the rest of council.
