ON THE SAME STAGE WITH THE BEATLES

P.A. duo performs on prestigious music stage in Liverpool

Apr 29, 2023 | 8:00 AM

It is the stage that has welcomed the likes of The Beatles, The Who, and The Rolling Stones. Now, you can add a Prince Albert musical duo to that list.

Jason Moon and Jamie April, better known as April Moon, recently performed at The Cavern, a prestigious venue in Liverpool, U.K.

“The Cavern is where The Beatles got their start back in the late 50s early 60s,” said Moon. “It’s still sort of considered one of the most prestigious venues in the world.”

The pair spend most of the year in England and Europe performing at different venues and festivals and travelling back to the Prince Albert area for the summers.

But of all the venues they have been in, none can top their performance at The Cavern.

“They’ve got the stage replicated where The Beatles used to perform,” said April. “You can go any day of the week, any time of day and there are lineups of people wanting to get in.”

April said she was nervous at first knowing she would be on a stage where Paul McCartney once was. Once they started performing their songs, everything went smoothly, and the audience loved it.

“As soon as we got up there, the audience was so warm and receptive and sat just listening to it. Just knowing I was on that stage I just tried to enjoy it.”

Moon said they got invited to The Cavern following the release of their album The Other One Was You. After that release, they started getting more gigs as news of their music spread.

April Moon has been busy going on tour in the U.K. In fact, when they spoke to paNOW, they were in their camper van, which they used to travel to their performances.

“We do a couple of nights at a time on the road. We call it The Clubhouse,” said April. “No matter where you go, you always have your own dressing room,” added Moon.

A full review of the performance can be found in New Sound Generation Music Magazine.

More details on the band will be found on their official website.
