The Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation is seeing a good uptick on its 2023-24 Monthly Lottery fundraiser, on now.

The lottery has $50,000 in total cash prizes up for grabs. Only 1,300 tickets will be sold for this lottery.

Funds raised through the initiative will help purchase an Omni Hysteroscope.

“It’s still ongoing,” foundation executive director Leanne Ducommun said. “We are over 50 per cent [of tickets] sold.”

“Get your tickets while you can,” she said.

The monthly draw for those who previously purchased tickets will take place in April.

“We encourage everybody to get their tickets before we sell out,” Ducommun said.

Funds raised from will be used to purchase an Omni Hysteroscope, for the BUH operating rooms for Women’s Health surgery.

“This device will allow gynecologists to both see and remove unhealthy tissues, all in one step, ensuring a faster, more comfortable and safer surgical procedure,” Ducommun said.

To participate in the Monthly Lottery’s Early Bird draw, people must purchase their tickets by Friday, April 6.

“Get your tickets while you can,” Ducommun said.

Ladies’ Night event sold out

For a separate fundraiser, the BUH foundation Ladies’ Night is also enjoying great support.

Ducommun said this event marks the official launch of the “Medication Matters” Pyxis MedStations capital campaign fundraiser.

“Ladies’ Night sold out very quickly,” she said. “We will have over 350 ladies in attendance.”

The event will take place April 1 at the Alex Dillabough Centre in the town of Battleford.

The event previously took a break during the pandemic years, so the foundation is glad to see it moving ahead again.

“This is an extremely popular event,” Ducommun said. “After three years, we are pleased to be bringing it back. This is the first time it will be held in the spring, so we are very grateful for the community’s support, and the community responding to an early sell out. We are looking forward to a great time.”
