North Stars first-round schedule set versus Red Wings

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) has announced its playoff schedule for the opening round of the 2023 postseason.

As the #1 seed overall, the Battlefords North Stars (38-5-2-1) will open their quarter-finals matchup versus the #8 Weyburn Red Wings (26-27-2-1) on home ice in North Battleford this Friday and Saturday, as the lone team assured home ice advantage throughout the postseason.

Each of the North Stars’ playoff games will be available on the NAPA Auto Parts North Stars Hockey Broadcast on 1050 CJNB. The Ultra Print Pregame Show will begin 30 minutes prior to puck drop each night.

In other quarter-finals action around the league, the #2 Humboldt Broncos (40-14-1-0) will play the #7 Nipawin Hawks (26-24-5-1); the #3 Flin Flon Bombers (37-15-2-2) will play the #6 Estevan Bruins (28-23-3-2); and the #4 Melfort Mustangs (31-16-5-4) will play the #5 La Ronge Ice Wolves (32-19-3-2).
