Remains identified as Megan Gallagher

The human remains found in the river near St. Louis in September have been confirmed as missing woman Megan Gallagher.

She was the victim of a homicide, Saskatoon Police Service said in a news release.

After going missing in September 2020 and two years of searching by her family, multiple police agencies searched the South Saskatchewan River for Gallagher’s remains and found her within hours of starting.

Multiple arrests have been made and a range of charges have been laid.

Four people are charged with first-degree murder including Robert James Thomas, 27, Roderick William Sutherland, 44, and Cheyann Crystal Peeteetuce, 29.

Summer-Sky Henry, 24, is the fourth person charged but remains at large and is wanted by police.

Also charged are Thomas Richard Sutherland, 42, and Robin Tyler John, 24. Both men face charges of unlawful confinement and aggravated assault.

Jessica Faye Badger (Sutherland), 42, John Wayne Sanderson, 44 and Ernest Vernon Whitehead, 41, are all charged with offering an indignity to human remains.

Gallagher lived in Saskatoon but had strong family ties to Cumberland House, northeast of Nipawin.
