Man wanted in connection with submerged vehicle found in Beaver River

UPDATE: On September 24, Cold Lake RCMP found and arrested Bryan Janvier at a residence on Cold Lake First Nation.

He will appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on September 29, 2022.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 36-year-old Bryan Janvier in connection with a submerged vehicle found on Aug. 24.

On that day, Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a vehicle submerged in the Beaver River, off Highway #903. When police officers arrived at the scene, an adult male was standing on top of the submerged vehicle. He was transported to hospital with injuries.

After the truck was removed from the river, a 20-year-old woman from the Dillon area was found dead inside. Officers also found a loaded handgun in the truck.

As a result of the investigation into the incident, police have now charged Janvier. He faces nine charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, operation while impaired, operation while impaired over 80 mg causing death, and several firearms-related charges.

Bryan Janvier is described as approximately 6’1” and 220 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his cheek and is missing a front tooth. Janvier has connections to the Dillon and Cold Lake, Alta., areas, but his current whereabouts are unknown.

Police say if anybody sees Janvier to not approach him, and call police immediately. Anybody with tips about this case can report them anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
