Ceremony to take place Monday

Battleford Legion planning memorial service to honour the Queen

People in the Battlefords will have an opportunity to attend a local ceremony on the National Day of Mourning for the Queen’s passing.

The Royal Canadian Legion Battleford Branch No. 9 plans to hold a memorial service in honour of Queen Elizabeth II on Sept. 19 starting at 10:45 a.m. at the cenotaph, located across from Battleford Furniture.

The ceremony is expected to last about 30 minutes.

The Legion is advising attendees there will be no public seating for this event.
