NWT Days parade route changing this year
The North West Territorial (NWT) Days Parade will have a new route for this year’s event on Tuesday, Aug. 16.
The City of North Battleford has been working with the Battlefords Agricultural Society to make some adjustments to the path to avoid construction underway in the area.
“In the interest of the safety of all of the spectators and also the individuals participating in the NWT Days Parade, we wanted to make sure that there was no construction along the route. So it was really great to be able to work with the local organizing committee to ensure public safety was a priority and that the event could still go on as planned,” city public relations coordinator, Candace Toma, said.
The event will start at 7 p.m. leaving from the Access Communications Centre (ACC) site, formerly known as the Civic Centre, in North Battleford, heading along 19th Avenue, then turning to travel along 100th Street, then turning again to 13th Avenue. From there it will run straight to 105th Street, turning onto 18th Avenue, then travelling along 104th Street before concluding back at the ACC again.
