COVID levels in P.A. & North Battleford hit lowest mark in several months: study

Jun 27, 2022 | 11:19 AM

COVID levels in Prince Albert, North Battleford, and Saskatoon are at a low point not seen for some time.

According to the University of Saskatchewan, which continues to study the virus through wastewater to see how prevalent it is, levels are the smallest recorded in each community since January 2022.

P.A. had the biggest drop from last week, a decrease of nearly 83 per cent.

North Battleford’s levels dropped by roughly 81 per cent, while Saskatoon’s decreased by around 50 per cent.

This comes after the provincial government announced they were moving away from weekly COVID updates to monthly as numbers were on the decline.

As for the Omicron variant, more specifically the Omicron subvariant BA.2, it’s accounting for all levels in the three cities.
