Police in the Battlefords caught a lucky break when a stolen vehicle sighting led to a drugs and weapons seizure.

On Saturday, the Battlefords Gang Task Force located a 2010 Toyota Camry on the 1600 block of 102nd St. in North Battleford. The car was reported stolen back on March 2.

The occupants were arrested and a subsequent search resulted in the seizure. This included weapons, methamphetamine and other evidence indicative of drug trafficking.

Currently only 26-year-old Jordan Pritchett of North Battleford has been charged. This includes:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking;
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon;
  • Possession of a concealed weapon;
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime valued over $5,000;
  • Two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to order;
  • Two counts of failure to comply with probation.

He appeared in court this morning.

Tremblay said the other occupant, a 21-year-old female, has not yet been charged.

“She has been released from custody and there will be charges, but we’re just waiting on confirmation of what they are,” he said.

Anyone with information on this or any other incident can contact the Battlefords RCMP detachment, 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
